The shield features an embossed, political style, national eagle with out-stretched wings, clutching a wreathed, with a swastika in it’s talons and embossed Gothic script, "Reichsfinanzverwaltung-Zollgrenzschutz" (National Finance Administration Customs Border Guard), all on a pebbled background.The bottom edge of the shield has a small, smooth field, plate with a stamped, serial number,928.
The shield also has two holes to both sides and the top and bottom edges intended to attach it to a sleeve.
Shield size 8.2 + 6.5cm
Scarce Customs Official’s sleeve shield,in very good condition.
